Young Farmer exists in between a posthumanistic worldview with multi- and interspecies coexistence and traditional agricultural practices. 

This exhibition is a bubble I've been in for the past few years, in an attempt to move from a small partially self-sufficient homestead at our mill to a working farm. It shows some of the realities of rural life, multispecies care, an ecosystem in climate crisis and the often invisible beaurouracy that is connected to the agricultural sector.

The show is guided by the magazine “Mladý zemědělec” (Young Farmer), inspired by fashion and lifestyle magazines that address the theme of this romanticisation of the modern dream of a self-sufficient homestead and community living in the countryside.

 

The more serious topics are realised in the post_dirt mindmap, developed over the past five years, expanded for this series to reflect the current drought and agricultural crisis around the world.
